"Do not be amazed! You seek Jesus of Nazareth, the crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Behold the place where they laid him. But go and tell his disciples and Peter, 'He is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him, as he told you.'" (Mk 16:6-7)

At evening on the day of Jesus' death, one of his disciples named Joseph of Arimathea came to Pilate and asked for Jesus' body. Pilate conceded his body, and Joseph buried him in a new stone tomb. After rolling the rock across the entrance, he departed. The next day, the Pharisees asked Pilate to station guards at Jesus' tomb so that his disciples could not steal the body and claim he had risen. Pilate granted their request.
After the Sabbath, Mary Magdalene, Mary, the mother of Joses and the younger James, and Salome went to the tomb to anoint Jesus' body with spices. Then, there was a great earthquake. An angel appeared, rolled away the stone, and told Mary that Jesus had risen from the dead. They ran back to tell the disciples and saw Jesus on the road. He told them to send his disciples to Galilee to see him.
The guard had fallen to the ground in fear at the appearance of the angel, but when they had gone, the guard went to the Pharisees to tell what had happened. The Pharisees bribed the guard, telling them to spread the rumor that his disciples came and stole him in the night.
After Jesus had appeared to Mary, Mary, and Salome, he appeared to two disciples on the road to Emmaus. He taught them about the events that had taken place in Jerusalem and made himself known to them in the breaking of the bread.
Jesus then appeared to seven disciples at the Sea of Tiberias. After a day of empty nets, they caught 153 fish in their net, the number of known nations at the time. After the net was pulled ashore, Jesus commissioned Peter to lead his Church.
On a mountain in Galilee, Jesus appeared to the eleven disciples. He told them to "go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always" (Mt 28:19-20). After he said this he ascended into heaven and took his seat at the right hand of the Father.

Unique Points
In Matthew's gospel and only Matthew's gospel, the guards traveled into the city and told the chief priests what had happened at the tomb. The chief priests gave the guards money and told them to spread the rumor that Jesus' disciples had stolen his body in the night (Mt 28:11-15).
Also in John's gospel, Nicodemus, the Pharisee who came to Jesus in the middle of the night, helped Joseph of Arimathea bury Jesus's body. Nicodemus brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes to prepare the body.

One recurring point in all the gospels is the appearance of an angel to Mary Magdalene at the tomb. This angel said to her that Jesus of Nazareth had been raised and that he was waiting for them in Galilee. "Do not be amazed! You seek Jesus of Nazareth, the crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Behold the place where they laid him. But go and tell his disciples and Peter, 'He is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him, as he told you.'" (Mk 16:6-7).
Another recurring point found in all the gospels is that at the end of all the resurrection stories, Jesus commanded his disciples to go out and preach the good news. "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. " (Mt 28:19). This shows that Jesus began the church and wanted the various ideals and beliefs found in Christianity to spread throughout the world.
